Jesus Christ said: “For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. So beware how you listen, for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him” (Lk 8:17,18). There is a 2,600 years tradition that the name Yahweh be erased from Scripture due to reverence to the sacred name. Is that true? “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 Jn 4:4). “And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” And God furthermore said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, “Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name from generation to generation” (Ex 3:14, 15). “You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain, for Yahweh will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain!” (Ex 20:7, Dt 5:11). The high priests usurped Yahweh. They slyly misinterpreted the 3rd Commandment to mean that His name Yahweh was too sacred to be pronounced, least His name be taken in vain, and forbidden the oral and written Yahweh. His name YHWH was honored 6,828 times in the Scripture against their only 1 counter scriptural objection. “We must obey in God rather than men” Acts 5:29. “Scripture is the final authority in all rules of faith and practice.” “That persuasion is not from Him who calls you. It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Therefore, stand firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery (Ga 5:8 &1). Their audacity to murder His name Yahweh under His nose! His unique divine name YHWH was degraded to a meaningless and nameless title Adonai, translated to LORD into every English Bible whenever their corrupted 1000 CE Masoretic Text’s Adonai was followed. They removed Yahweh completely from Scripture, usurped Him with the fake LORD. The high priest crucified Christ for “I am” (Mk 14:62). They hated and crucified Him but couldn’t kill His name Yahweh. Yahweh lives! “So that we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming” Eph (4:14). Erased His name was exactly taken His name in vain and there were consequences. Honor His name and commandment to enjoy His blessing in the reading of His word and in life. Build on Yahweh the truth and unshakable foundation. “The one who despises the word will be in debt to it, but the one who fears the commandment will be rewarded (Pr 13:13). “Trembling before man brings a snare, but he who trusts in Yahweh will be set securely on high (Pr 29:25). “Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh and whose trust is Yahweh” (Jer 17:7). Christ Jesus said to them, “Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?” “But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commands of men.” Mt (15:3 & 9). “And their fear of Me is in the command of men learned by rote” (Is 29:13). “But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God” (2 Cor 4:2). “The end of the matter, all that has been heard: fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the end of the matter for all mankind” (Ecc 12:13).
72 Jews from Jerusalem were commissioned to translate the undisputed Hebrew Torah to the Greek Pentateuch, and the Septuagint (LXX) in 3 Century BCE. The translators unlike the original writers were under their restriction that YHWH was forbidden to be duly translated, punishable with stoning and death. That tradition of replacing YHWH with Adonai began after the Babylonian Exile in 597 BCE and was strictly enforced during Jesus’s time by the Jewish authority. LXX was completed by 132 BCE and was the undisputed translation for the Greek speaking Jews until Rabbinic Judaism distanced away from LXX because early Christians authenticated Christian theology with it. Jesus Christ and the New Testament’s writers frequently quoted from the LXX. “Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am. Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple” Jn (8:58,59). The Pharisees understood that Jesus called Himself Yahweh as in Exodus 3:14 and stoned Him for blasphemy. Stephen’s trial before the Sanhedrin in Acts 6:12 witnessed that era. The Pharisees did not dispute that YHWH was written in the Hebrew Scripture, but they arbitrary ruled that YHWH could never be pronounced or written. That prevented Yahweh from being translated into the LXX. Today, Yahweh is faithfully restored back in the English Old Testament. Will the New Testament continue with the printing of His name especially with quotations from the Old Testament for clarity and truth? While the Jews were entrusted with the undisputed Scripture, they had broken the trust entrusted to them and lost the undisputed Hebrew Scripture. Their later 1000 CE Masoretic Text’s Adonai was corrupt and unacceptable.
“Shema Yisrael YHWH Eloheinu YHWH Echad” Duet 6:4. “Hear, O Israel! Yahweh is our God, Yahweh is one!” “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD” KJV. Echad was one, a compound unity of essence of three persons in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. This verse firmly affirmed God singular divine nature in one Trinity. Whereas Yachid was absolutely indivisible singular one. One monotheism LORD without Christ and Holy Spirit. That’s another religion from Christ and Holy Spirit. The identity YHWH was faithfully translated Yahweh. This unique name YHWH could never be translated to a nameless title and meaningless LORD. YHWH was changed to Adonai to be translated LORD. That’s abomination to Yahweh. That’s twisting Scripture to suit whatever one wished to preach. SCAM!! Eloheinu was God. Yisrael was Israel. Shema meant hear and obey. There was not another biblical Hebrew word like Shema for obey. They wanted to hear whatever they wanted, and even sacrificed that verse pinned to their foreheads to demonstrate their extreme piety to their LORD. But they were extremely disobedient to “Yahweh is one”, to the core in their LORD. Here lied the mother of LORD. Here, the context and emphasis are to obey “Yahweh is one”. “Has Yahweh as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Yahweh? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams (1 Sa 15:22). “Become doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves” (Jas 1:22). “But as for Israel He says, “All day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and obstinate people” (Ro 10:21). Yahweh is opposite LORD. Don’t be fooled by the LORD. There is no Christ in the LORD, as seen in Trinity. “And it will be that everyone who calls on the name of Yahweh will be delivered (Joel 2:32). “For ‘Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Ro 10:13). Lord in the NT refers to Jesus Christ exclusively. Yahweh in the OT is Jesus Christ in the NT. Contrast that with “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered” KJV. LORD has no Christ and no salvation. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me” (Jn 14:6). “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). I AM WHO I AM means “Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God” (Ps 90:2). Yahweh is God not LORD. “The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding Pr (9:10). Get Yahweh to enjoy His word. “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jer 29:13).
“And the angel of Yahweh appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of the bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed. So Moses said, “I must turn aside now and see this marvelous sight. Why is the bush not burned up?” And Yahweh saw that he turned aside to look, so God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am” (Ex 3:2-4). Scripture is succinct that the angel of Yahweh is the send second Yahweh God the Son, the preincarnate Jesus Christ who speak with Moses exclusively in the Burning Bush. Jesus is God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob among other things. All these things are authenticated in the Scripture. LORD was designed to shut off Yahweh. No Yahweh no Christ and no gospel in OT. Yahweh is faithfully restored in the LSB. Jesus Christ is the great I AM in the Burning Bush. “I am the bread of life” 6:35. I am the Light of the world” 8:12. “I am the door” 10:9. “I am the good shepherd” 10:11. “I am the resurrection and the life” 11:25. “I am the way, and the truth, and the life” 14:6. “I am the true vine” 15:1.
